Cavy Couture was established in 2009, after the adoption of my first guinea pig. I had already been designing my own pet accessories and clothes, and have been sewing since I was a child, and when I adopted Chiral, it made sense to deck out his cage and give him a nice comfy home. Upon request, I also made pet accessories for friends and family, and eventually decided to build my own shop, and set up Cavy Couture!
Since then, I've returned to university to study for my PHD in Chemistry. Cavy Couture is now run part time, as my PHD requires me to spend as much time in the lab as possible. As a result, we no longer sell c&c cages, or offer a custom order service - we do, however, keep the website as well stocked as possible given time constraints!
I own two pigs; Chiral, a mouthy abyssinian, and Tesla, a very quiet swiss. Chiral likes nothing better than to demand food and get his rumble on, while Tesla appreciates the quiet life, of cuddles and celery! The boys unfortunately don't see eye to eye, and cannot be convinced to cohabit. Instead, each has his own 2x4 c&c cage, Tesla stacked on top of Chiral, and share passing wheeks throughout the day. With lots of cuddles and attention, and another pig to wheek at, I like to hope that loneliness isn't a big problem - at least there's always someone to talk to!
